Vacuum degasser

The solid control system also has some horizontal vacuum degasser equipped, its working principle is to use vacuum suction fluid, separated by the thin film after turbulent gas pumped by the vacuum pump. However, this horizontal vacuum degasser need to reprovision a pump spray unit, so that the degassed fluid pumped from the vacuum processing chamber. 


Vacuum Degasser installation

(1) Drilling site requirements as long as no obvious tilt can be.

(2) inlet and outlet pipes, vacuum pumping line connections should be sealed and reliable.

(3) before the start of inlet and outlet pipes should end while immersed in the drilling fluid.

(4) Before the start of the first inlet hose on the vacuum pump and water pipe connected, stop for 3-5 minutes, and so filled with water after the pump is started again. At the same time, turn on the gas-water separator plugs, to the gas-water separator was filled with water until the water overflows from the overflow port stop and spin on the plugs. Start should check the motor rotation direction is correct.

(5) Vacuum control valve on the adjusting screw in place has been adjusted at the factory, do not casually adjusted.

Vacuum Degasser maintenance

(1) Vacuum degasser mud tank cover should be cleaned once a week, in order to avoid clogged gas channel.

(2) After use, the rotor should be washed and vacuum tank suction pipe, cut off the power, remove as the hole blocking plate to check parts for damage, and remove foreign objects inside the tank, rinse the tank wall and the rotor.

(3) After each using, the cleaning work should be carried out to ensure the re-use deaerator with good performance.

(4) Operating ambient temperature higher than 300C, the always see vacuum gauge, when the vacuum is less than 0.3 KPa, the water temperature should be maintained within the vacuum pump does not exceed 450C.

(5) For winter using, to promptly release the gas-water separator and pump the water to prevent cracking.

(6) Every month, available to the spindle bearing grease gun filled with sodium based grease filling volume 200ml.

Vacuum Degasser

Derrick Vacu-Flo degassers have a more efficient vertical tank design than traditional horizontal degassers, offering over 217% more surface area than alternative designs. This additional capacity results in no increase in vessel size, tank space requirements, unit weight, or reconfiguration of pit arrangements. A 5 HP vacuum pump, capable of pulling 29” Hg, draws mud into the degassing chamber where decreased pressure causes gas bubbles to surface from the fluid more rapidly. A stacked, corrugated fiberglass leaf arrangement and multiple feed ports provide higher fluid impact, thinner layers of mud dispersion, and greater turbulence for more efficient gas removal. Derrick’s Vacu-Flo degassers offer convenient access to the leaf assembly and float mechanisms (without having to remove the vessel lid) through an oversized access door. This feature significantly reduces downtime and maintenance costs compared to other units. The Vacu-Flo Degasser has a leaf capacity of 14,528 square inches.

Brightway Vacuum degasser

BW Vacuum degassers work by creating lower pressure inside a vessel so air or other gaseous impurities can be removed from a substance, such as water or even molten steel. The air is siphoned from the vessel after pressure is lowered enough to force the gas from the substance. A high-vacuum process environment is maintained for a variety of product testing and laboratory applications. This allows the user to analyze products or materials under a wide range of conditions and under predetermined atmospheric or environmental parameters. Some of the conditions that can be controlled by vacuum degassers include pressure and humidity, temperature, altitude simulation, electromagnetic radiation, microwave radiation, specific gravity, density and vapor pressure.


Manufacturing issues such as leakage and product integrity can be tested and corrected through the use of vacuum degassers. Other conditions, such as acoustic and gaseous emissions, can be controlled. Some testing processes include total mass loss, total mass flux and helium leak detection.

Vacuum degasser utilizes vacuum pump suction action, causes negative pressure zone in vacuum tank, under the action of atmospheric pressure, drilling mud through the suction pipe into the hollow shaft of rotor, and then through the window around hollow shaft jilt to the tank wall by spurting. Vacuum degasser for drilling fluids solids control:

Vacuum Degasser is also called mud/Gas separator. Mud/gas separators (Degasser) is the first units of solids control equipment arranged to treat drilling mud. As such, they process all of the drilling mud from the flow line before the mud reaches the primary shale shakers. The units have no moving parts and rely on the density difference between the gas and the mud for removal. The process is simple, yet very effective for well drilling fluids processing system.

Vaccum Degasser is used to remove the small entrained gas bubbles left in the mud by the mud/gas separator. These units are positioned downstream from mud/gas separators, gumbo removal equipments (if utilized), mud cleaner and mud conditioners (if utilized), while desander and Decanting centrifuges follow in the arrangement.
