1. Structure
This decanter centrifuge consists of unit assembly of revolving half, power gear mechanism, overload unharness system, base and casing, feed tube, electrical system, etc.

1.1 Unit assembly of revolving half

Vacuum degasser

The solid control system also has some horizontal vacuum degasser equipped, its working principle is to use vacuum suction fluid, separated by the thin film after turbulent gas pumped by the vacuum pump. Solids Control Structure and working principle

Shale shaker

Shale shaker is the primary & initial device to be used to remove the solids in the drilling fluid, which would be used as the first stage solids control equipment in the purification system, and work as other devices, such as desander,desilter, mud cleaner, centrifuge that all are located downstream of the solids control system. Basicly the complete circulation system also includes gumbo remover, scapler shaker, and dryer shaker. All of these equipment work together with other auxiliary devices, such as mud gun,mud agitator, centrifugal pump, mud hopper, gas bruster, degasser, etc, to remove the drilled-solid that bring to the well surface by the drilling fluid.

















Shale shakers drive by the vibratory motor. Motor imparts vabration force onto the screen basket ( or called screen deck), making the screen moving, so that the drilling fluid liquid phase go through the openning of screen, and drilled solids that bigger than the mesh would be moved to the discharge end of shale shaker. As the development of shale shaker, there exists three different motions of shale shaker:













Linear Motion Shale Shaker -BW
1. Circular motion shale shaker;
2. Linear motion shale shaker;
3. Balanced ellipse shale shaker;
4. Unbalanced ellipse shale shaker.

Linear motion shale shakers are widely used in oil & gas drilling after it was introduced into the petroleum drilling. As we discussed previously that linear motion shale shaker is drived by two counter rotating motor which are installed on the top of screen deck, and keep 45 degree angle with screen basket. But why it is 45 degree angle? why not 30 degree or 60 degree?

As we known that shale shaker processing capacity is effected by the combination of two factors: solid phase limit, and liquid phase limit. If these two vibratory motors is horizontally mounted on the screen deck, the vibration force at top & bottom point of horizontal level would be biggest, so the solids only jump up & down, can not move to the discharge end of shale shaker. While if the two motors is installed with 90 degree, it would be helpful for drilling fluid to flow on the screen, and solids will can not be removed. So to balance solids limit & drilling fluid liquid limit, the two motors are normally kept 45 degree with screen deck, so that the drilled solids would be tilted uphill towards to the discharge end of shale shaker.

Centrifugal pump

Centrifugal pump is a sub-class of dynamic axisymmetric work-absorbing turbomachinery. Centrifugal pumps are used to transport fluids by the conversion of rotational kinetic energy to the hydrodynamic energy of the fluid flow. The rotational energy typically comes from an engine or electric motor. The fluid enters the pump impeller along or near to the rotating axis and is accelerated by the impeller, flowing radially outward into a diffuser or volute chamber (casing), from where it exits.
Common uses include water, sewage, petroleum and petrochemical pumping. The reverse function of the centrifugal pumps is a water turbine converting potential energy of water pressure into mechanical rotational energy.

Function of Drilling Solid Control equipments


Solids control procedures are often ignored in many oil & gas drilling projects. Many people do not understand very well the basic principles of drilling fluids solids control. They persist that drilled solids are evil & insidious. In a short term, drilled solids increasing generally does not reveal their economic impact immediately, and the detrimental effects are also not immediately obvious on the drilling rig. But in a long term, increasing of drilled solids would generate many problems on drilling rigs. So drilled solids need to be removed at the surface by solids control equipment, such as shale shaker, mud cleaner, centrifuge, etc. to reduce the risk.

Drilled solids damage reservoirs, increasing drilling cost, and also create large drilling processing disposal cost. To drill an oil or gas well fast, safely, and under budget, it is necessary to remove the drilled solids which not only include drilling cuttings, but also sloughs that drop from the wall of borehole. If these drilled solids can not be removed timely, they would cause many problems, including:
● Filtrate damage to formation
● Drilling rate limits
● Drilling string stuck
● Borehole Problem
● Lost circulation problem
● Direct drilling fluid cost
● Increasing disposal cost

Decreasing drilled solids is analogous to buying an insurance to an event that will not happen to drilling rig. Nobody wish these above problems happen to any drilling project, but they do exist, and they are real. The effects of drilled solids on economics of drilling a well is subtle, and increasing of drilled solids does not result in a disaster immediately on a drilling rig. When the drill bit ceases to work and torque increases, driller know that it is time to pull the bit. But when the drilled solids increases, the detrimental effects are not apparent immediately.

That is why the drilling fluids are used to bring drilled solids to the surface, and removed timely by the solids control equipment, such as shale shaker, desander, desilter, mud cleaner, centrifuge, etc. But not all the solids are removed, and it is also impossible to remove all the solids. Some solids that smaller than the shaker screen openings would stay in drilling fluids, and other additive agents, such as barite, clay, etc. are also essential to adjust drilling fluids property.

Kem-Tron Tango 500 Mud Recycling System

Kem-Tron mud recycling system is one of the popular mud system in the world . Many users choose Kem-Tron for solutions , here I will introduce one of Kem-Tron mud recycling system for you .
This unit is capable of achieving a cut point of 25 microns. The TANGO 500T has one (1) dual-deck shaker with a total screen surface area of 56 ft2 with six (6) 5” hydrocyclone desilters. The TANGO 500T carries a total tank volume of 3,100 gallons between two (2) compartments along with three (3) 250-Series centrifugal pumps with a respective horsepower rating of 25hp, 20hp, and 20hp. All the pumps are located in the pump house to protect from the elements.

Firstly , this mud recycling system is a mobile unit which have wheel at one side of this unit for easy moving . Secondly , it’s a combination of recycling mud part and mixing mud part . Forthly , It’s mainly focused on recycling mud not mixing which enabled this system flexible and exquisite.Lastly , the price for this recycling unit is costly .

BW Solid Control for Coal Bed Methane (CBM) Drilling

Coal bed methane(CBM) is a form of natural gas that is extracted from coal bed seams. Sometimes it is called coal bed methane, or coal bed gas, or coal mine methane (CMM). The primary energy source of CBM is a substance called methane (CH4), which is colourless, tasteless, non-toxic & flammable, making coal bed methane available to be used in all natural gas appliances in our home and also commercial applications such as electricity generation. In recent decades it has become an important source of energy in United States, Canada, etc. In Australiahas where has rich deposits, it is known as coal seam gas (CSG).














BW Solid Control System for CBM Drilling
CBM is generated either from a biological process as a result of microbial action or from a thermal process as a result of increasing heat with depth of the coal. It is hold loosely in the coal bed seams by the water & underground pressure. As the main content of CBM, methane has very low solubility to water. To explore CBM, the underground water must need to be removed by pumping, which would reduce the pressure on gas and allow it to detach from the coal bed seam. Thus, CBM that hold in the coal bed seams can be released to the surface with the flowing of water, then CBM are separated from water and collected by special device at the surface.
Coalbed methane is usually very shallow, mainly around 1000 meters. That is why the drilling rigs for CBM are normally for 1000 to 2000 meters. The type & density of drilling fluids for CBM development must be designed and fixed according to the formation pressure, and also need to allocate appropriate solids control equipment, such as shale shaker, mud cleaner, centrifuge, etc. For surface well & intermediate section drilling, drilling medium should refer to the conventional CBM drilling medium optimization principle, while for horizontal well drilling, it should use superior drilling medium, non-clay drilling fluids, fresh water, gas, such as nitrogen, air, etc. & also froams to avoid drilling medium to harm the coal bed seams.

Decanting Centrifuge for Solids Control & Waste Management

Decanting centrifuge is the most important solids purification units in drilling fluids solids control system, centrifuge is normally mounted at the last stage in the system, to remove non aggravated drilling mud, and can remove the evil solids that is larger than 2 μm, and remove the superfluous colloid in the drilling fluids. and control the fluids viscosity by collecting the barites in the drilling mud. Centrifuge can also collect the liquid phase by recovering the drilling mud that flow through the hydro-cyclone, and Centrifuge is also an ideal equipment to treat oil drilling fluids waste, preventing environmental pollution.
Centrifuge is consist of main & auxiliary electrical motor, belt, feed pipe, drum, spiral propeller, differential mechanism, etc. The main motor drives the drum and outer casing of differential mechanism through the belt, while the auxiliary motor drives the spiral propeller through the differential mechanism, which would rotate the drum & spiral propeller in the same direction, but with speed difference.
 
The drilling fluids would enter into the spiral propeller center through the feeding pipe. When the spiral propeller rotates, with the centrifugal effect, the solids in the drilling fluids would be thrown to the inner wall of drum, and pushed to the smaller end of the drum and be out through the discharge port, while the liquid phase would flow through the spiral propeller to the larger end, to finish the solid-liquid separation processing.

Why Galvanizing Treatment Much Better Than The Normal Painting Process?

Brightway apply the galvanizing treatment to the solids control equipment and the solids control system.

What is the difference between the galvanizing treatment and the normal painting process?

There are mainly 3 points,and let's have a look one by one.

1. The anti-rust performance of galvanizing treatment is much better than the normal painting process.

In our daily life, normally the galvanizing treatment is applied for the outdoor tubes or the underground tunnels from the consideration of the anti-rust.
